JP Tech was called to remove and replace the swing drives on a Bucyrus 495 shovel. Our crane crew, field mechanics, and support trucks handled the full operation from teardown to installation.
The work included:
– Isolating the swing system and prepping the upper assembly
– Rigging and removing failed swing drives
– Installing and aligning new drives to OEM spec
– Torquing, plumbing, and functional testing
– On-site cleanup and return to service.
The shovel was returned to production with minimal downtime thanks to coordinated crane operations and on-site mechanical support.
